Virginia Lawmakers Walk Out After Pastor Turns Prayer Into Biblical Anti-Gay Rant
Virginia Democratic lawmakers walked off the floor of the House of Delegates Tuesday morning as a conservative pastor invited to give the opening prayer instead delivered a homophobic sermon condemning gay marriage and abortion and said God would bring his “wrath” against those who don’t follow biblical principles.
Reverend Robert M. Grant Jr., the pastor of The Father’s Way Church in Warrenton, insisted lawmakers “stand for what is right” in the eyes of God during his biblical rant which was eventually cut short when the speaker of the House slammed her gavel.
