Longtime JMG readers may recall Wisconsin Family Council head Julaine Appling, who led her state’s successful 2006 referendum battle which resulted in a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage. Appling then called for the enforcement of an obscure state law that prohibits residents from entering into out-of-state marriages that would be illegal in Wisconsin. The penalty for doing so was a jail sentence of up to nine months and a fine of $10,000. Which brings us to today.

The Wisconsin Gazette reports:
