With a new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Evita starring Rachel Zegler as Eva Peron and a sweaty, shirtless, underwear-clad Diego Andres Rodriguez as Che hitting the West End, we thought now would be the perfect time to revisit one of the show’s biggest numbers: “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.”

Believe it or not, the song has been around for almost half a century now, and has performed and recorded (and butchered) by a number of different artists–from Patti LuPone to Donna Summer to Madonna.
