Cole Escola proves they can do it all—even play straight!

As if they weren’t busy enough playing to sold-out audiences in the hit play Oh, Mary!, Cole Escola continues to make the talk show rounds, most recently appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Escola expressed interest in their next big creative project: playing straight.

Escola, wearing a two-piece brown leather miniskirt ensemble, cowboy boots, and hand “friperie” that would put Cynthia Erivo’s nail art to shame, arrived with an agenda. “I want to play a straight guy,” claimed Escola, who’s been earning standing ovations as a petulant Mary Todd Lincoln on Broadway.
