For whatever reason, the subject of open relationships still prompts a heated reaction from many. Some guys hate the concept while others would view monogamy as heteronormative and restrictive.

Whatever your feelings about them, studies have found that a sizeable chunk of queer men, especially if they’ve been with their partner for several years, are in open relationships.

Other studies report that couples in monogamous and those in non-monogamous relationships report equal levels of stability and happiness. This suggests that it’s about finding something that works for you.
