Everyone has their own path and makes their own decisions, and this industry has historically been characterized by its inability to accept LGBTIQ+ people. If you look at the big stars of the 1950s and 1960s, like Rock Hudson, for example, they died in hiding, even though their friends knew about it.
Today’s industry has evolved, but it’s still very fickle, and it’s very easy to lose your reputation or for work to stop coming in, so I can understand why there are still people who are afraid.
