A new mural has been unveiled in Shoreditch to celebrate and support London’s LGBTQ+ community yesterday (3 July).
The artwork states in bold colourful writing: ‘Loved and wanted in London’. It was commissioned by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan as part of the city’s ongoing Loved and Wanted campaign.
The unveiling was led by deputy mayor for Communities & Social Justice, Dr Debbie Weekes-Bernard, to coincide with Pride celebrations across the capital.
Speaking at the unveiling, Dr Weekes-Bernard said: “London is proud to be a beacon of inclusiveness, acceptance and diversity.” She said they are committed to working towards a “better, fairer and more inclusive London for everyone.”
