A new study has revealed further good news about the HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine. 

Healthcare providers routinely give the HPV shot to girls and boys around 11-12 to protect them from acquiring the virus. For maximum protection, people should receive it before becoming sexually active. Experts also advise young queer men to get it if they didn’t receive it as a child.

Although most people will encounter HPV during their lives, gay men disproportionately report genital and anal warts. Certain strains of HPV cause these.
