‘Schitt’s Creek’ Makes Emmy History With Complete Sweep
In its sixth and final season, the quirky Canadian comedy “Schitt’s Creek” swept the comedy category on Sunday night, taking home seven wins at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards.
The show won a total of nine Emmys this year, the most ever for a comedy in a single year.
Catherine O’Hara kicked things off with the first acting Emmy win of her career for her role as the wig-obsessed diva Moira Rose.
“This is so cool,” O’Hara said as she accepted her award in Toronto. “I will forever be grateful to Eugene and Daniel Levy for the opportunity to play a woman of a certain age — my age — who gets to fully be her ridiculous self.”
