Ted Cruz slammed for trying to rebrand June as anti-abortion ‘Life Month’: ‘Shut up, Ted’

Ted Cruz is leading the Republican’s attempt to make June “Pro-Life Month”, despite the fact it is already widely acknowledged to be LGBTQ+ Pride Month. 

Pride Month, is celebrated annually in June in tribute to the Stonewall Uprising, but is now under attack by Cruz, who is leading efforts to eclipse Pride Month with an anti-abortion themed “Life Month.”

On Tuesday (3 June), the Texas lawmaker introduced the joint “Life Month Resolution” to the upper chamber. 

He claims the resolution, intended to commemorate the third anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade, aims to “recognise that every human life is a sacred gift from God”.
