The guy I’m dating has declared a “celibate July” after Pride & I’m a little insulted. Should I bolt?

Hi Jake,

There’s a guy I’ve been hooking up with—sort of dating—for the past few months. We’re not exclusive, but honestly, he’s the only guy I’ve hooked up with all year. I believe I’m the only guy he’s hooked up with too, though I can’t say that with 100% certainty.

Anyway, he recently told me he’s not having sex during the month of July. He said STI rates always spike after Pride, and to protect himself, he’s going to stay celibate until August. He said we can still hang out—just no getting naked together.
