How queer will this year’s Tony Awards be? Bet your bottom dollar! The 78th annual Tony Awards, honoring the best on Broadway, will be held on June 8 at Radio City Music Hall—witch du jour Cynthia Erivo hosts, which already raises the queer quotient. (We’re “holding space” for you, Cynthia! You’ll be great.) But it is the theater, darlings, which means plenty of LGBTQ+ cast members and creatives will walk the red carpet.
Sarah Paulson, who won a Tony last year for her searing performance in Appropriate, announced this year’s nominees with Wendell Pierce, and let’s say we were gagged over the nods and the snubs.
