Video game actor Merle Dandridge to reprise her role as Marlene in HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation
The TV adaption of the popular action-adventure game The Last of Us is coming to HBO in 2022.
In a rare move, voice actor Merle Dandridge has been added to the official cast of the HBO series, which is set to debut next year. Joining Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, who are set to appear as Joel and Ellie, respectively – Dandridge will reprise her role from the original 2014 video game.
As in The Last of Us, she will play Marlene, the head of the Fireflies: a resistance movement struggling for freedom against an oppressive military regime. The star-studded adaptation will be directed by several people, from Kantemir Balagov to Ali Abbas.
