What traveling as a queer interracial couple has taught us about the world

When we started traveling the world—me, a gay Latino raised in the U.S., and him, a white Scottish man with charm to spare—we knew we’d face some challenges. As we began researching what it’s like to travel as an interracial couple, we found that most resources focused primarily on queerness—and rightfully so. But it was much harder to find anything about what happens when the world sees one of you differently because of the color of your skin. That’s part of why we started Traveling Boyfriends.
