Country music legend and gay icon Dolly Parton has reacted to rapper Lil Nas X’s version of her 1974 classic song, ‘Jolene’ in the most Dolly way.

Lil Nas X released the cover — recorded in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge — last week, and it had received more than 2 million views on YouTube as of Friday afternoon.

In a social media post Wednesday, Parton said she “was so excited” when someone told her that Lil Nas X had covered “Jolene.”
