Trump Invites Homophobic Brazilian President to White House

Jair Bolsonaro has been the topic of many different posts here on Instinct with his extremely homophobic views including saying things like he would rather have a dead child than a gay one or that he would punch a gay couple if he saw them kissing on the streets. Needless to say, he is a pretty bad guy in relation to gay rights and the general wellbeing of LGBTQ Brazilians. On March 19th, Trump will meet with Bolsonaro to “discuss how to build a more prosperous, secure, and democratic Western Hemisphere,” according to the Advocate. 

They will discuss defense cooperation, trade policies, international crime, and restoring democracy in Venezuela. They will also, most ironically, discuss humanitarian efforts. I’m sure you’ve all been paying attention to Trump’s abysmal track record in regards to LGBTQ
